Crispin Hill Award - July

PresentationSam Booker was awarded Skillway's prestigious Crispin Hill Progress Award 2010 by Mrs Christine Hill on Open Day.  Sam, from Unsted Park, was in the Masterclass group and has been attending Skillway for the past two years.  He has impressed his tutors with his hard work, enthusiasm and skill at the bench and has thoroughly deserved this outstanding achievement.

The Round House Gardens - July

Roundhouse GardensThe Round House Gardens, Hascombe, were opened to the public in early July under the National Garden Scheme.

Owner and Landscape desingner, Mrs Sue Lawson invited friends and gusets for drinks and canapé on the opening evening in aid of Skillway.  On a bright, sunny evening nothing could have been more wonderful than, with drinks in hand, strolling along lavender fringed paths, chatting to friends and admiring the beautiful walled garden where she has merged traditional features with modern, thus providing some dynamic combinations.

We are enormously grateful to Sue for a memorable evening and to all her guests for their extremely generous donations.

Should the gardens be open next year, this is one place that has to be on the 'must visit' list if you have not already done so.
